I am currently delivering an 8 month contract, together with lead partner, SKV Communications to provide PR/Marketing Support for South Lakeland District Council's (SLDC) Explore South Lakeland and Invest in South Lakeland Programmes.

The Objectives of the Campaign are:

Reinforce the message that South Lakeland is open for business. Increase engagement with property agents to introduce potential investors, developers, land owners and businesses to available employment land, through the Invest in South Lakeland website.

Raise the profile of South Lakeland as a world-class place to do business and encourage investment or relocation from those who may not have considered it previously through Invest in South Lakeland.

Promote South Lakeland as an inspirational place to live and work through Explore South Lakeland. Showcase the fantastic lifestyle offer for residents, families and employees, highlighting the wide range of events, offers and leisure opportunities available.


SKV and Fox were responsible for drawing up and are now implementing a short-term PR/marketing plan to achieve the stated objectives. A long-term plan is to be devised in March 2015.

As a former employee of SLDC both in Communications and in Tourism, I already had an excellent track record in engaging with local partners. I am currently building on existing positive relationships with partners and forming new strategic connections with target markets.

Further responsibilities will include: creating and distributing press releases as necessary; Maximising the reach of newly produced promotional films and investment brochure; Increasing direct input and engagement with Explore South Lakeland's 'What's On' and local offers sections and Invest in South Lakeland's business directory and land and premises search; Producing and circulating monthly reports on the status of current activity.
